Qualified charitable organizations seeking support from The Russell Foundation are encouraged to submit an on-line Application for Grant. To assist in this process, potential applicants are required to complete an Assessment Questionnaire before filling out and submitting the actual Grant Application. The Questionnaire is intended to help a potential applicant assess its qualifications, completeness of information for the Application, and alignment with the Foundation’s selection criteria.

Grant amounts are nominally $5,000 but have ranged from $1,000 to $25,000. The Board of Director’s general policy – though not firm — is to award grants to any one organization for no more than three years in order to have flexibility in its focus area emphasis and in supporting different charities offering fresh approaches to achieving the Foundation’s mission. Requests for multiple-year funding are not accepted.

The Foundation accepts Applications for Grant throughout the calendar year. Awards are typically made in the second half of the year.
